As England crash out of the World Cup and Andy Murray crashes out of Wimbledon you might wonder what we’ve got to go whoopie about.
Well Whoopie Pies are the latest food craze to cross the Atlantic, where they originate from the Amish community. The story goes that Amish women would bake these “pies” or cakes to you and me, for their menfolk as part of their packed lunch. When the men opened their lunch box and found these inside they would yell out “whoopee”, hence the name.
Ours are made with two layers of rich chocolate sponge sandwiched with a vanilla fudge filling. we are working on more flavours which will follow soon.
I bought this today, was rather nice but maybe a bit too much vanilla fudge for my liking, otherwise it was lovely!
